WOW! what a transformation Dutch Design Brand Studio Henk made this last year. They started out as a small furniture design studio in Amsterdam. The two brothers, Okke and Xander, felt a personal need for design furniture that was beautiful but also practical.

The first item was a dining table that can be customized to fit both your interior and lifestyle. From there, they designed more furniture items and their collection grew. Because of the customizing options and appealing prices, the collection was a success from the beginning.

I’m so happy and proud that we sold Studio Henk tables and furniture right from their early start in our former C-More Concept Store in Nijmegen the Netherlands, where we gave young designers and brands a platform to sell and show their furniture and designs.

Now, a few years later, Studio Henk blew me away at the IMM Cologne 2020 fair, with their newly developed designs. What a transformation! I love the refined lines, colors, and materials of the new furniture items, and I’m actually in love with their new table and cabinet! I shot some pictures with my iPhone to give you an impression.

What do you think? Love it as much as I do?

Enjoy! Iris

Studio Henk is for sale at:  Flinders BE & NL

Nieuwe meubel designs

gespot bij IMM cologne 2020

WOW!

Dutch Design Week 2019 | DDW19

a personal impression

NL↓

This year my intention was to visit the Dutch Design week at least for 4 days… But I ended up just having the space and time for 1,5 day…. way to little time ofcourse.

I stilI managed to get to some very interesting designspots. I made an area | event plannig upfront. But unfortunatly missed a few great spots due to the 2,5 day less time I had. The great news is that there is a lot of inmormation to fond at the DDW webisite: www.ddw.nl/en

For an impression of what I spotted see below. I Posted al my finds at C-More Instagram and in my stories.

I focused mainly on interior color and material. But the overall trend and subject of de Dutch Design Week was sustainability.

There is no planet B…..

I was happy to see that this subject is now addressed by almost all designers and many brands.

Read more about this at DDW 19 trend | Save us.

Also big topics and trend are:

  • The Power of WE
  • The museum of design
  • The invisible designer
  • Back to earth
  • Re/connect
  • Growing design
  • Data as material

You can read more about this and other trends here: Dutch Design Week 2019 trends

  • Re / connect
  • Groeiend ontwerp
  • Data als materiaal

Flexa Trend Color 2020 | Colour Futures | Akzo Nobel

15 september 2019

Flexa Trend Color 2020 is

Tranquil Dawn

Colour Futures

↓ for NL

Flexa | Akzo Nobel presented Tranquil Dawn™ as the trend color of 2020. A color of my heart. It fits perfectly in the “zeitgeist” of this period. Flexa’s color expert Heleen van Gent explains that the color Tranquil Dawn™ is part of the Trend Theme “The Human Touch”. We are seeking for positive connections and relationships in a shallow and digital world. That’s exactly what I sensed at the Milan design week April 2019 and our trend presentation was all about!

Tranquil Dawn™ is a light green-grey color with a blue undertone. The color transforms during the day and adapts easily to other colors.

Flexa presents 4 trend themes to combine the colors for 2020.

A home for creativity | A home for care | A home for play | A home for meaning

See below ↓for more explanation and inspiration by trend theme

Curious what the trend color 2020 by Histor PPG is? Read all about that in this post HERE.

A home for creativity:

The old and new go hand in hand and make this interior eclectic with a creative elaboration. The palette reinforces this feeling and embraces you with warm, rich, full tones that go back to the past such as ocher, petrol, greenery and burgundy. Tranquil Dawn ™ and Cosmic Glory bring relief to this palette. Wood, flowers (print), ceramics, printed cotton, knitted plaids and rugs are used in this trend. The colors from this palette remind you of the horizon during a warm autumn day.

A home for care:

This interior trend feels like a soft blanket thanks to the color palette. The palette consists of pastels and naturals with Spiced Honey as a warm addition. In terms of materials, this interior uses white woods, wool and metals such as silver, copper and gold. This color palette can be compared to a misty spring sunrise.

A home for play:

Energetic and open are words that belong to this trend. The feeling is playful, young and vital. The color palette consists of a mix of soft hues and energetic colors, such as a sunny yellow and coral red. Geometric is an important pattern within “play” and in this light interior you will find a mix of materials such as plywood. The colors from this palette match the horizon of a clear sunny summer day.

A home for meaning:

You get a minimalist but human feeling with this interior. This trend creates a space of comfort with an almost monastic calm. The color palette consists of different light grays with two heavier almost blacks. Straight lines and functional forms are supplemented with tactile materials such as linen and wood. This gray palette can be compared to the color shades of a horizon during a clear winter day.

Flexa Trend kleur 2020 is

Tranquil Dawn

Colour Futures

A home for creativity | A home for care | A home for play | A home for meaning

Geniet!

Color trend 2020 CHINESE PORCELAIN by Histor | PPG

Color trend 2020

CHINESE PORCELAIN

by Histor | PPG

For Dutch ↓

Yes! The new color trends 2020 are here. Histor | PPG as well as Flexa | Akzo Nobel both launched their 2020 color trends this week.

[More about Flexa | Akzo Nobel in this NEXT post]

Histor | PPG goes for Chinese Porcelain, A kobalt inky blue, that gives you a relaxed feeling in this stressful world.

Histor | PPG created 3 trends around the Chinese Porcelain blue color to combine.

Flow on the Move – Flow at the Core – Flow in the Know

Flow on the move is a playful palet with fresh, modern, but familiar colors from all over the world. In this palet you want the colors to clash a bit. A bit “off” which makes the color combinations extra interesting.

Flow at the Core is a more nature based palet with botanical, down to earth and “sustainable” colors. Soft midtones that wil last for a longer time and have a light dark contrast to give it more depth. The colorcombinations are both soothing as well as sparkling.

Flow in the Know, which is my personal favorite palet, creates a refined combination between nature and technology. A color palet that invites you to look for possibilities to work on change so the future and our society will be better than the past. Raw nature colors as Ginger cake and Talaverna, combined with oxidated blue-green tones like Chinese Porcelain and Wave of Mystery.

What is your favorite palet?

Enjoy !

Color trend 2020

CHINESE PORCELAIN

by Histor | PPG

Ja!

Flow on the Move – Flow at the Core – Flow in the Know

Geniet!
