A sparkling Christmas at Sir Albert’s Mansion

You are cordially invited to stay at the Sir Albert mansion in Amsterdam. The mysterious Sir Albert is a distinguished and dashing gentleman who evokes the presence of a Dutch 007 but without the water ppk and instead a silver tray. And although you will never see him, his signature is visible and palpable throughout the hotel.

Diamonds
Set in a historic industrial building with an impressive heritage, the four star boutique hotel is decorated as if it is Sir Albert’s mansion. The property used to be the Van Moppes diamond factory. Massive thick walls and floor to ceiling windows are the only reminders of that as is a special cabinet on the first floor with collectibles, diamonds and antique tools. Everything in the hotel is hand-picked by Sir Albert, after all, it is his home. He has travelled the world and collected art and memorabilia that are on display in his abode.
His style is chic and sophisticated. Instead of a lobby, you can relax in his study, where his loyal dog sits next to Sir Albert’s chair, and the fire place is always on. Sir Albert’s pipes, his bottles of cognac, and his favourite art books are there for everyone to see and enjoy.
Art
Sir Albert is also a huge art collector. There is a lot of distinctive art throughout the hotel as well as beautiful photography books and art magazines. Most striking is the art wall you encounter when you step into the hotel: JoJo de sex Buddha. This ambiguous piece of art is made out of ceramic hippos that look like breasts at first glance. Another art piece with a wink is the wooden deer head, implying Sir Albert’s modern take on classic distinguished interiors.
The 90 rooms and suites are luxurious and comfortable with Maxalto beds, extra large duvets and you can choose your own pillow (soft, medium, feathers, foam). An Illy coffeemaker designed by Francis Francis, soft vintage kilims, Dead Clean bath products, and a rain shower complete the experience of feeling pampered and special. When Sir Albert is travelling, which is very often, you can also stay in his suite with a luxurious, well-stocked bar, living and bedroom.
iPad service and app
A distinctive amenity is the iPad service. There are several iPads in the study and reception area, you could use. If you would like to use one in your bedroom, you can borrow one for the duration of your stay. The Sir Albert app, provides information about the hotel and services, but also his little black book with his favourite restaurants, shops, and leisure tips in the area of his mansion.
Restaurant Izakaya
Also located in the mansion is Japanese restaurant and bar Izakaya. The restaurant has the design concept of a Japanese pub: not too fancy and with a bar in the center of the space. It’s a casual and accessible place to have lunch or dinner, also if you’re not a guest in the hotel.

Een sprankelende kerst bij Sir Albert’s Mansion
Geachte heer / mevrouw,
U bent van harte uitgenodigd om in het Sir Albert mansion in Amsterdam te verblijven. Deze mysterieuze Sir Albert is een voornaam en onstuimige heer, die de aanwezigheid van een Nederlandse 007 oproept, maar dan zonder zijn water PPK en in de plaats daarvan een zilveren dienblad.
En hoewel je hem nooit zult zien, is zijn handtekening is zichtbaar en voelbaar in het hele hotel.

Diamanten
Gevestigd in een historisch industrieel gebouw met een indrukwekkend erfgoed, is het vier sterren boutique hotel ingericht alsof het Sir Albert’s thuis is. Het pand behoorde ooit toe aan de Van Moppes diamantslijperij. Massief dikke muren en de van vloer tot aan het plafond hoge ramen, zijn de enige herinnering aan dat tijdperk. Net als de speciale kast op de eerste verdieping met verzamelobjecten diamanten en antieke gereedschappen. Alles in het hotel is persoonlijk gekozen door Sir Albert, het is zijn huis immers. Hij heeft de hele wereld rondgereisd en verzamelde kunst en memorabilia die worden tentoongesteld in zijn woning.
Zijn stijl is chique en verfijnd. In plaats van een lobby, kunt u ontspannen in zijn studeerkamer, waar zijn trouwe hond naast Sir Albert’s stoel zit en de open haard altijd aan is. Sir Albert’s pijpen, zijn flessen cognac, en zijn favoriete kunstboeken zijn er voor iedereen te bekijken en van te genieten.
Kunst
Sir Albert is ook een enorme kunstverzamelaar. Er is veel karakteristieke kunst in het hele hotel aanwezig, evenals prachtige fotoboeken en kunsttijdschriften. Het meest opvallend is de kunstwand die je bij binnenkomst van het hotel direct ziet: JoJo de sex Boeddha. Dit dubbelzinnige kunstwerk is gemaakt van keramieke nijlpaarden die er op het eerste gezicht uitzien als borsten. Een ander kunstwerk met een knipoog is het houten hertenhoofd, wat Sir Albert’s moderne variant op klassiek en onderscheidende interieurs impliceert.

Een prettige voorziening is de iPad service. Er zijn diverse iPads in de studeerkamer en de receptie, aanwezig die u kunt gebruiken. Als u er graag een op uw slaapkamer wilt gebruiken, kunt u er een lenen voor de duur van uw verblijf. De Sir Albert app, geeft informatie over het hotel en de diensten, maar ook zijn favoriete “kleine zwarte boekje” staat er in, vol met restaurants, winkels en recreatieve tips in de buurt van het Hotel.
restaurant Izakaya
Tevens bevindt zich in het Design Hotel een Japans restaurant en bar Izakaya. Het restaurant heeft een Japanse pub concept: niet te fancy en met een bar in het midden van de ruimte. Het is een informele en toegankelijke plek om te lunchen of dineren, ook als je geen gast bent in het hotel.
