Part 2

Cabinets + Tech

Last January I was invited by the NKBA Global Connect program to visit visited the Living Kitchen show that is biannual with IMM Cologne, the interior and furniture design fair held in Cologne. I finally found the time to write these 2 posts. For part 1 see over here.

Besides the material and color trend, I wrote about in blogpost part 1, I also spotted a few interesting kitchen cabinets and tech trends that I’ll show you below.

As said: The fair was very crowdy, so I apologize upfront for the not always so beautiful pictures taken with my “old” iPhone, but nevertheless, I definitely wanted to share these insights I spotted at the show with you.

I’ve made 2 posts out of it since there was so much to share. Here is part 2!

Keuken trends gespot tijdens

Living Kitchen Keulen | Imm Keulen 2019

Deel 1 Materiaal + Kleur

Imperfecte, handgemaakte styling in aardse kleuren

Grijze marmeren werkbladen, witte gootstenen, witte getextureerde tegels

Concept Car Renault SYMBIOZ | Dutch Design Week 2018

Concept Car Renault SYMBIOZ | Dutch Design Week 2018

In a few days, it’s happening again: The Dutch Design Week 2018 starts! From 20 until 28 October 2018 the Dutch city of Eindhoven will change in an inspirational place full with design in all its forms.

You’ll get a sneak peek in the future of how we will live, eat, work, travel, dress and in fact, every way live in, through the eyes of new and young designers and renowned brands. All these designers are excited to show the world what they’ve made or designed. Some are still idea’s or concepts and others are complete products that you can apply in your life immediately.

For interior design, you can find inspiration for furniture, lighting, colors, fabrics and also accessories of all kinds.  A lot to see and do!  I always go for a few days, as many as possible.  This is actually THE chance to spot new trends and to speak to the designers themselves. See my tips below.

The Dutch Design Week provides since many years the Design Rides so you can travel free (!) from one DDW spot to the other by car. This year Renault is the perfect Design Ride car since Renault has a fully electric car, the Renault ZOE.

The mobility of the future and Easy Life innovations are the elements that make Renault and The  Dutch Design Week great partners.

I was personally also blown away by their new SYMBIOZ concept car, where living and driving kind of overlap. What a great concept! See the short movie how this can look in the future. You can visit the Renault SYMBIOZ concept car at the DDW Ketelhuisplein.

For now, we all get the chance to ride the Renault ZOE, a fully electric car, which I applaud for its small footprint. I think its’ a perfect City car with a nice Design, in which you can also travel since the driving range of the ZOE is pretty long.

The growth in charging infrastructure and the innovation charging stations are evolving. So thinking about the environment and an Easy Life, the Renault ZOE fits in perfectly.

Dutch Design Week 2018

Renault Design Ride

  • Innovation Powerhouse – The Embassy of Health
  • Graduation Show 2018 by Design Academy Eindhoven at Campina
  • Van Abbemuseum – GEO DESIGN by Design Academy Eindhoven
  • Sectie C
  • Kazerne – Eat Drink Design
  • Dutch Invertuals
  • TAC – Trajectories
  • Modebelofte – New Order Of Fashion
  • Robot Love at Campina
  • Philips Museum
