The Design week in Milan is always THE event of the year, where brands and designers show the newest new. So did Vitra. This year Vitra presented the newest items in big “boxes” where an interior setting was created. As always very inspiring!

Explicit choices are made in the color pallets, upholstery and floor covering that are used. Vitra always manages to create a welcome and home feeling. Even in a booth at a very big fair! My compliments for that.

This year the new items are the Grand Sofà by designer Antonio Citterio and the Softshell Side Chair by the brothers Bouroullec. Also a few new variants of the Mariposa Sofa by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and new version of the East River Chair by Hella Jongerius. Last bust not least Vitra adds two new fabrics.

As if that wasn’t enough, there are also some updates of design classics such as the Table Flavigny by Jean Prouvé and the Eames Coffee Table by famous designing partners Charles en Ray Eames.

Not mentioned in the list, but one of my favorite chairs in the collection is the coconut chair. I’m glad that Vitra is picking up this beautiful design more often in the presentations lately.

Overall I sensed a stylish feminine feeling in most of the settings, with colors in ton-sur-ton pallets. One of the boxes had a bit of an odd twist which I like very much.

It felt like a very personal mix with lot’s of unique pieces, but as always combined in a very beautiful “collage” way. Very Vitra! I wonder if you know which box I mean :-) And one box was a bit more manly classic style.

For more info go over to Vitra.

Enjoy!

Milan designweek 2017

Last bust not least introduceert Vitra twee nieuwe stoffen.

Geniet!
