Softness, texture, tactile, touch, feel, relax, wood, shades of soft greens, blues and greys and a small touch of the trendcolors of 2015 : Reddish brown Marsala [Pantone] and Copper Orange [ Colour Futures ]
That’s what I saw at the Piet Boon presentation in Milan Designweek 2015 Zona Tortona.
Big chairs, xl sofa’s and coffee tables covered with a big box of glass [great for styling!!] or with marble tops, and a new cast aluminium side table “Klink”.
Beautiful fabrics, textiles and plaids, a mixture of materials and carpets with a touch of gleam and lots of “life” in it… Soft tones of colours are giving the rooms a relaxed and quite but also rich feeling.
Combined with the pure and personal interior accessoires and styling by Karin Meyn en John Biesheuvel, it makes this a place where you come to yourself, unwind and recharge after a bussy day …

Milaan Design Week 2015 










Zachtheid, textuur, tactiliteit aanraken, voelen, ontspannen, hout, tinten van zacht groen, blauw en grijs en een hint van de trend kleuren van 2015: het roodbruine Marsala [Pantone] en Copper Orange [Colour Futures]
Dat is wat ik zag tijdens de Piet Boon presentatie in Milaan Designweek 2015 Zona Tortona.
Grote stoelen, xl sofa’s en salontafels bedekt met een grote box van glas [prachtig voor styling !!] of met marmeren bladen en: een nieuw bijzettafeltje “Klink” van gegoten aluminium.

 

Mooie stoffen, textiel en plaids, een mengsel van materialen en tapijten met een vleugje glans en veel “leven” in het materiaal … Zachte kleurtinten geven de kamers een ontspannen en rustig maar ook rijk gevoel.
In combinatie met de pure en persoonlijke interieur accessoires en styling van Karin Meyn en John Biesheuvel, maakt dit het een plek waar je weer tot jezelf komt komt en kunt ontspannen en opladen na een drukke dag …

Don’t we all want to know, how they work?
I for sure do…

I’m always interested in the person behind the design,
the story, the concept, the use of material, the colors… 
As long as I can remember I’m called super curious 
and always asking for the why, 
how and what… The cool thing about that is that 
I feel connected with the designer and the designs. 
It can also be disappointing, 
when I discover that there is no story…. 
But I must say, when that happens, 
most of the time I wasn’t attracted to the product anyway… 
So, you can imagine I wanted to visit this exhibition no matter what. 
15 Designers of the ” New generation Dutch Designers” 
show their work until 17th May 2015 
at the Stedelijk Museum in Den Bosch NL. 
The Expo curated by Tatjana Quax and Inga Powilleit 
is an extension of the book “How We Work” 
which was presented last DDW in Eindhoven. 
These 15 designers have one common questions that the are asking: 

“What are we to do with the surplus of things, objects and design knickknacks? Renewal arises from taking account. These fifteen designers look around them and ask themselves: How can things be done differently? Material, technique and the design process are given new meaning.”

Shown is the work proces of one chosen object and how it is made.

Tentoonstelling

 Nieuw Nederlands Design



Willen we niet allemaal weten, hoe ze werken?
Ik zeker weten!
Ik ben altijd geïnteresseerd in de mens achter het ontwerp, 
het verhaal, het concept, het gebruik van materiaal, de kleuren … 
Zolang ik me kan herinneren ben ik super nieuwsgierig en vraag altijd naar het waarom, 
hoe en wat … Het leuke is, dat ik me dan gelijk 
verbonden voel met de ontwerper en zijn / haar werk.
Het kan ook wel eens teleurstellend zijn, als ik ontdek dat er geen verhaal is….
Maar ik moet zeggen, als dat gebeurt, 
was ik eigenlijk al niet echt aangetrokken tot het product …
Ik voel dat toch aan.
Dus, je kunt je wel voorstellen dat ik deze tentoonstelling MOEST gaan zien.

15 “Nieuwe generatie Nederlandse ontwerpers” 
tonen hun werk tot 17 mei 2015 in het Stedelijk Museum in Den Bosch. 
De Expo is samengesteld door
Tatjana Quax en Inga Powilleit als aanvulling op het boek “How We Work “, 
dat werd gepresenteerd tijdens afgelopen DDW in Eindhoven.


Deze 15 ontwerpers hebben ’n gemeenschappelijke vraag:

“Wat doen we met de overdaad aan spullen, objecten en designprullaria? Materiaal, techniek en het ontwerpproces worden herijkt. Vernieuwing ontstaat door stil te staan. Deze vijftien designers kijken om zich heen en vragen zich af: ‘hoe kan het anders?’.” 



Getoond wordt het proces van één gekozen object per ontwerper en hoe het wordt gemaakt.

Berlin Apartment Schönenberg by Fantastic Frank 
You remember Fantastic Frank don’t you? 
He and his stylists and photographers make 
your house or apartment for sale look so incredibly wanted, 
that it will be gone in no time! 
The only thing is… he’s only available in Berlin or Stockholm…
Since I’ll be visiting Berlin in April for The Hive I was strolling the internet for some inspiration about interior design and nice house in Berlin. 
The open,white and light space in combination with the worn, used, patina furniture is stunningly beautiful. So is the concrete wall and black wall with yellow coffee table in the kitchen.  You know what I love the most? The very old worn woorden cabinet that is used in combination with the white sink in the bathroom. More contrast isn’t passible I think….and thats what makes it so beautiful.

Fantastisch appartment in Berlijn

Je kunt Fantastic Frank toch nog wel? 
Hij en zijn stylisten en fotografen 
maken jouw te verkopen huis of apartment zo geliefd, 
dat het in no time is verkocht! 
Het enige is….. Hij is alleen beschikbaar in Berlijn of Stockholm…

Aangezien ik in april naar Berlijn ga voor The Hive, 
was ik vast online wat inspiratie aan het opdoen 
over interieur design en mooie huize in Berlijn. 
Toen kwam ik dit prachtige huis tegen op Fantastic Frank. 

De open witte ruime ruimte in combinatie met de doorleefde
 gebruikte en gepatineerde meubels is werkelijk prachtig. 
Weet je wat ik nou het mooist vind? 
Het super oude kastje met de strakke witte wastafel in de badkamer. 
Meer contrast kun je niet hebben toch? En dat maakt het nou zo mooi…

Yesterday I visited the furniture fair in Köln: IMM Cologne. 
Although I saw a lot of nice designs and furniture, the Lighting Fixtures 
were a real eye-cather at this fair. Thats is a real trend for 2015!
I selected some of my favourites.
They all stand out in form, used material, combinations of materials, translucence or graphic lines.
And what do you think of my namesake iridescent glass ball IRIS ?
I love it!

Verlichting armaturen die ik gespot heb op  IMM Cologne 2015


Gisteren bezocht ik de meubelbeurs in Keulen: IMM COLOGNE
Hoewel ik veel mooie ontwerpen en meubels heb gezien, waren de verlichting armaturen toch
 een echte eye-catcher op deze beurs. Ik heb een echte trend gespot voor 2015!

Een aantal van mijn favorieten zie je hier.

Ze zijn allemaal bijzonder van vorm, gebruikte materialen, combinaties van materialen, doorschijnendheid of in grafische lijnen.

En wat vind je van mijn naamgenoot de iriserende glazen bol IRIS?
Ik vind em mooi!
